Perpetual Thankfulness…Keep it Going!

thank you noteYou’ve probably seen a number of posts saying “I’m thankful for…..” Personally, I love reading them, because thankfulness changes us. It allows us to see the glass half full instead of half empty.

Thankfulness allows us to remember what we might otherwise forget or take for granted. I believe our perspective positively changes when we realize the gift a new day brings.

Rainy day? What a great day to stay inside!

Fog? What a fantastic special effect for our Facebook pictures!

Hail? Hmmmm. I’m thankful it doesn’t hail every day??

You get my point – there’s always, always something to be thankful for. Will you find it? I’ll start, and I’m hoping you’ll join in. Today, Kayla and I want to say we’re thankful for you, our reader. You encourage far more than you realize. You continually teach us!

Because you’re willing to share your experiences here, you teach and help a lot of parents who love at least one (or more) march-to-the-beat-of-a-different-drummer type children.

Thank you for lovingly parenting your child and helping him find his way. Thank you for encouraging your teen and telling her how creative she is. Or how athletic he is. Or what a natural leader she is…..the list goes on and on!

Thank you for realizing that as a parent, you have the most important job anyone could ever have. This isn’t a job for the faint of heart or those who must be encouraged daily. The truth is it’s often thankless, and there are parts of the job description that might be seen as drudgery on a given day.

Helping a child learn multiplication tables is one task that comes to mind.

Yet you persevere. And I’m positively hope-filled that you’ll let Kayla and me know what you’re thankful for today. Your turn! Let us hear from you…
